Australia's men fell short in their quarter-final on day nine, ending a disappointing campaign, so now the Hockeyroos are flying the flag alone.
They will meet trans-Tasman rival New Zealand in the second v third quarter-final at 11:00pm Monday.
The winner will meet either group B winner Great Britain, which earlier beat Australia 2-1, or group A's fourth-placed finisher, Spain, in the semis.
