Aussies in the hunt in canoeing, diving and triathlon on day 15 Rio Olympic

Canoe sprint

Aussie quartet Jacob Clear, Riley Fitzsimmons, Ken Wallace and Jordan Wood will be looking to defend Australia's Olympic title from London in the K4 1,000m.

Clear is the only surviving member of the team from four years ago, but strong showings on the world cup circuit this year indicate the new configuration is in with a great shot at a gold medal in Rio.

That gets going at 10pm Saturday AEST.

Diving

Australians Domonic Bedggood and James Connor will take part in the men's 10m platform semi-final from 12am AEST.

If they make it through, the final gets going at 7:30am AEST.

Triathlon

The women's race gets underway at 12am AEST and there are three Australians in the field, Emma Moffat, Ashleigh Gentle and Erin Densham.

All three are strong competitors but a medal here would come as something of a surprise.

Football

Can Brazil finally break their gold medal drought in men's football? This is perhaps the most anticipated event of these Games for the locals, who are desperate to add Olympic glory to their five World Cup trophies.

Winning gold is by no means a given for Neymar's side, though, as they are taking on the might of Germany in the decider.
