Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Jadeja among the numbers in multiple ways

India continued their domination over New Zealand for the second successive day in Kanpur on Sunday (September 25) and are just six wickets away from going 1-0 up in the three-Test series. India set the visitors a stiff target of 434 to chase in the fourth innings on the back of fifties from Rohit Sharma (68*) and Ravindra Jadeja (50*). New Zealand lost three of the four early wickets to R Ashwin, who became the ninth Indian bowler to 200 Test wickets, before recovering slightly to reach 93 for 4 at the close of play.

133-run stand between Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara is the second-highest second-wicket stand for India against New Zealand in home Tests after 237 by Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag in Ahmedabad in 2010.

15 Tests played by Mark Craig to reach 50 wickets is the second-fastest for a New Zealand spinner after 14 matches each by Hedley Howarth and Daniel Vettori.

4 catches taken by Ross Taylor in this Test are the most by a New Zealand fielder in a Test match in India.

33 - Innings taken by Rohit Sharma to reach 1000 runs in Test cricket. Among specialist batsmen, Chetan Chauhan (35), Navjot Sidhu (36), VVS Laxman (37) and Eknath Solkar (44) have taken more innings to the landmark for India. Rohit also went past 6000 runs in first-class cricket when on 42.
