Worker to replace Broom for Bangladesh T20Is
George Worker, the 27-year-old allrounder, has been drafted into the New Zealand side for the last two T20 Internationals against Bangladesh as a replacement for Neil Broom. Broom, who has impressed with his batting, on his return to international cricket suffered a fractured finger and was ruled out of the remainder of the series.
Broom is expected to be sidelined for close to 10 days and this gives Worker, who has played two ODIs and two T20Is for New Zealand - all in August 2015, a chance to prove his worth. Worker will join the side, which leads the visitors 1-0, ahead of Friday's (January 6) game at Mount Maunganui's Bay Oval.
If not picked as part of the playing XI, Worker will be released from the squad and will be eligible to play for Central Stags in the McDonald's Super Smash final.
