Sheffield Shield wrap - Victoria continue winning streak with thumping win
Needing a seemingly improbable 352 runs on the last day, New South Wales's reply came crashing down. Victoria's bowlers were on top, with Chris Tremain, Scott Boland, Daniel Christian and Jon Holland all picking up wickets.
Resuming the day at 39/1, NSW added just eight more to the scoreboard before nightwatchman Nathan Lyon was back in the pavillion. Australia Test captain, Steven Smith laboured to 16 off 40 balls and was out bowled to Tremain.
Nic Maddinson, newly drafted into the Test squad for the day-night Test against South Africa, offered some fight with 33, and was well supported by a more patient Moises Henriques, who scored 37, but the game was all but over.
With wickets falling like nine pins from the other end, Henriques could only watch on helplessly. He knock stretched the end, but Boland closed the game by getting last man Doug Bollinger out caught to give Victoria a big 198-run win.
Brief scores: Victoria 510/6 and 105/2 decl beat New South Wales 225 and 192 (Daniel Hughes 54; Chris Tremain 3-31, Scott Boland 3-39) by 198 runs.
