Pakistan, who was due to host the bilateral event, were willing to host in the UAE. However, the BCCI is reportedly waiting on government clearance for the same. While the PCB want India to forfeit the six points if they do not agree to play, it is reported that the matter will be referred to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) event technical committee.

The two women's sides are also scheduled to participate in the Asia Cup that will be held in Thailand between November 25 and December 5, 2016.

The top four at the end of the ICC Women's Championship, which spans across two and a half years, will gain entry into the 2017 Women's World Cup in England, while the latter half will contest in a ten-team qualification tournament in the beginning of 2017.

West Indies, England and New Zealand, while Pakistan are seventh with eight points. If the points for the series were awarded to Pakistan, neither side would be eligible for direct qualification.

Pakistan will next head to New Zealand for a three-match ODI series in Nelson from November 13 to 17.
