Live Cricket Score of South Africa vs Australia, 1st ODI at Centurion

Run out:

Poor communication between George Bailey and Matthew Wade resulted in the latter's dismissal. The duo set off for a near-impossible single after Bailey tucked a delivery towards mid wicket and challenged David Miller. It would've taken quite a bit of luck to have survived.

Foxed:

Just when Australia were looking to take control of the contest courtesy a good stand between George Bailey and Travis Head, Imran Tahir foxed the left-hander with his googly. The batsman was stumped and the leg-spinner went for his customary celebration. Wicket No 5!

Phuhlekwayo strikes again!:

Mitchell Marsh, coming into bat at the fall of two wickets in quick succession, had taken the attack on the South African bowlers. However, Andile Phuhlekwayo challenged him with a few short-pitched deliveries before getting him to poke at an away going delivery. Quinton de Kock pulled off a stunning catch behind the wicket to send the fourth Australian batsman back to the pavilion.

Double blow:

Australia have been reduced by two more wickets as Andile Phehlukwayo strikes twice to dismiss Aaron Finch and Steve Smith. The Australian skipper went for a review, but there was absolutely nothing for him to escape from being given out leg before. The tourists have been reduced from 64 for no loss to 90 for 3.Two new batsmen - George Bailey and Mitchell Marsh - at the crease.

Strike 1:

David Warner's over the in-field attack backfires as he ends up lofting the ball to Kagiso Rabada at extra cover. Wayne Parnell strikes and South Africa get their first breakthrough.

Half-century stand:

David Warner has led Australia's charge as the opening stand has put on a half century partnership within the first 10 overs. While Aaron Finch hasn't got going as well, the left-hander has played attacking cricket and hit quite a few shots over the in-field.

Dropped:

Aaron Finch got off the mark after Dale Steyn dropped a slightly difficult return catch. The opening duo has taken advantage of the reprieve and have got Australia off to a strong and quick start.

Off the mark:

David Warner and Aaron Finch have come out to open the innings for Australia, while Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada have opened the bowling for the hosts. It is a good batting surface with a quick outfield. While Steyn was tight with his line, Rabada has been a bit erratic. Not surprisingly, Warner punished him for a couple of boundaries.

Toss:

Faf du Plessis, South Africa skipper, won the toss and elected to field against Australia in the first One-Day International at Centurion. Hashim Amla won't be part of the South African set-up. Meanwhile, Steve Smith said he also would've preferred to chase.
